LA was fun but
it was hard to take any-
body seriously

think i could make a
life there if it weren't for
all of the driving

living at home is nice,
especially when rooming
with grandmother

"I would tell them
to kiss my shoes," she says when she's
upset. quite charming

access to real kitch-
en and bathroom with 8 kinds
of lotion. not bad

though when it's ninety-
seven degrees out, the pool
feels like a bowl of soup

learning how to make
kugel: noodle pudding, jewish,
definitely not vegan

recipe passed down five
generations, hope i
don't destroy it

4th of july fire
works with heat lightening in back-
ground. spectacular

detox going well.
so far only smoked about
three cigarettes (truth)

restoring brain cells
that were lost somewhere
between pine and pike

fell asleep during
part of batman, but not war
of the worlds. good flick

not worried about
getting bored, my family is
too entertaining

only have two friends
here so i'm reading a lot
more than usual

missing most of my
seattle buddies but i'm
used to that by now

don't forget to keep
in touch: letters/postcards/e-
mail, phone if you must

nashville is funny:
talked to art garfunkle's ex,
ex wife yesterday

here, i'm feeling much
more american than i
ever did back west

already got in
two fights with republicans,
one of which was mom

might end up working
at noshville: humilating
but good money. meh
